The aim of this course is to develop an understanding of concepts and application of latest techniques in planning and control in production.

Role and Importance of PPC in various manufacturing systems, Functions of PPC: Capacity Planning, Estimating, Routing, Loading, Dispatching, Expediting; Aggregate Planning, Rough cut planning, capacity planning, shop floor planning, Govt. Charts control and feedback systems,
Implementation of PPC in continuous flow system, Line Balancing, Heuristic, Intermittent, Production Systems, Job Shop Scheduling, use of Linear programming models and simulation algorithms, Flexible Manufacturing System : Group Technology, Cellular Planning; Robotics: CAD, CAM, SIM; Role of Computers in PPC.
